As you may know, on July 4th, Garden City Police Chief Tim Gibbons 17-year-old son Owen was involved in a swimming accident while on family vacation near Louisville, Kentucky. Owen suffered a traumatic neck and spinal injury. Owen was pull from the water quickly and life-flighted to the University of Louisville Hospital. Owen received treatment and underwent surgery to try to repair and minimize the damage to his spine.
Presently, Owen does not have control of his limbs and there is a possibility that this will be a permanent condition. Owen is facing a long battle, he is currently at Norton Children’s Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.
