A co-worker and a supervisor learned of my personal trouble and assisted with the original contact. I first heard about the Thin Blue Line of Michigan through their provision of assistance to the law enforcement community in the local areas and from co-workers. The Case Manager was very informative and uplifting. The positive “can do” attitude of the Case Manager from the very first conversation to the last was very comforting. That attitude was displayed from everyone that I came into contact with at the organization. I received financial assistance to help pay for my wife’s funeral in addition to emotional support, many talks and much encouragement and reassurances. I was amazed at the prompt action and thoroughness. My wife had no life insurance and was self-employed. She could not work for about a year before her death and we were quite financially strapped. When she died the financial burden along with her death was overwhelming. When it counts the most, when it hurts the worse when everyone else can only say “I’m sorry” the Thin Blue Line of Michigan is there to pick up the pieces. It’s value is priceless.
